These two pictures perfectly portrays our life for the last 2 months. Since we got our dog Skye, we have been in the car a lot... taking her from Phoenix (where our sister-in-law helped us rescue her) back to California with us where we worked our last three weeks at the bakery only to move her again up to Spokane. So every time we take her in the car she thinks we are moving her again... and she either sticks her head out of the car, smelling new smells that she never had in Arizona, or she lays down in the back knowing it's probably going to be a long ride. Poor thing. But this time we were just taking a short camping trip in the North Cascades National Parks and visiting a dear friend in Seattle. We love showing her new places and having her experience things she has never experienced before. She lived in Tucson her whole life (2 years) so everything in the North West is new to her and we are so excited to show her snow this winter! What she is made for! Yes, we are like proud parents and there is no shame in that!
She did awesome camping. She hiked the 24+ miles we did in two days, swam in the lakes, and slept wonderfully by our feet in the tent. Overall it was a success! We had such a fun time exploring more of this wonderful state we live in.
Then we drove on over to Seattle to visit my friend Brittany from college. We caught up, went to their version of a "beach" and ate fish and chips and ice cream in a cone that was as big as our head. No lie. Mike couldn't finish his ice cream... for the first time in his whole life. It was a short but definitely sweet trip and we are excited to be able to do it more often.
Please enjoy the photos!
