weddings

I’m all in

When it comes to your wedding day, I aim to capture every raw, joyful, beautiful, magical, tear-filled moment, ninja-style. As you lose yourself in the excitement of this day, I’ll be photographing not only big moments like your first kiss or first dance, but smaller moments you didn’t even know were happening around you, moments that all work together to tell the big, beautiful story of your wedding day. Because that’s what your wedding day is - a story to hold onto in your years together and to pass on. And I want to help you tell that story, even if that story involves you getting cake all over your face. Cause hey, that happens.

Lets talk!

My valentines. ♥️
Currently on the couch snuggling with my little man, but wanted to jump on and say hey! And that I’m still taking a few more weddings this year (especially in the fall) AND I’m starting to take 2020 weddings for those of you who like to plan way in advance! So even though I’m still very much so on maternity leave, I’m still checking my email so hit me up and let’s talk all things wedding!!!! #katskyephotography
It’s been a crazy 72 hours, but we finally welcomed Jude Fox into the world at 2:15pm on February 5th! After 4 hours of painful induction contractions and almost 4 hours of very painful pushing (yes I had an epidural in between the contractions and pushing, but it wore off during the last 2 hours of pushing), we had an emergency c section because (long story short) Jude was starting to come out with the cord by his head. But even though it was scary and chaotic, especially for mike witnessing it all, Jude and I are both happy and health and recovering well! Mike and I will finally be able to go home today but Jude will be here another night in the nicu just for extra precautions. But we can’t wait to be home finally and welcome Jude into our lives! And skye can’t wait to meet her baby brother:) all in all none of this was how we pictured it to go down but it doesn’t matter because Jude is here and he is precious and adorable and healthy and perfect. It happened how it needed to happen and we are thankful for that. And I FOR SURE could not have done this without mike. He is the best husband, support person, life partner and friend who got me through all of this, and he is already an amazing and passionate and excited father. Jude is one lucky kiddo to have mike as his dad. #parenthood
Yep. Still very much pregnant. Happy 41 weeks to me!
Just over here reminiscing with @micwags about our vanlife days @olivethevan . We still can’t believe this was 2 years ago. Oh how different our lives look now in such a short amount of time. People ask us all the time if we miss it, and mike says without hesitation “yes all the time”. And I do too. I would do it again in a heartbeat. I would just want to travel in a vehicle that I can actually stand up in and has a toilet. And doesn’t break down on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere on a Sunday (the amount of times we broke down on a Sunday was unreal). But we had the time of our lives and we want to do it again, especially with our growing family. If you want to see more of our vanlife travels, go to my website and click “work” and then click “travel”. You can all reminisce with us. #katskyephotography
Bringing back one of my favorite photos. @thehavekosts can we relive your wedding day all over again?! #katskyephotography
I will be going on maternity leave for all of February and probably the first two weeks of March! So I won’t be doing photo shoots, but I will try and keep up with emails and social media as much as I can! Which means you can still book your wedding or photo session during my maternity leave! WOOHOO! #katskyephotography
And now it’s just a waiting game... Jude’s “due date” is in 4 days. Who thinks he will be early, on time, or late?!
I photographed a handful of non traditional weddings this last summer and loved every beautiful second of it! A few of my couples decided to walk down the aisle together at the beginning of the ceremony, some of them got ready together, other couples had a mix of guys and gals on both sides of the wedding party or no wedding party at all, and some got married with a small ceremony one day and then had a big reception party a month later somewhere else. And I was there to photograph it all and loved every freaking second of it! These two pictured above got married in Texas in the spring and then hired me to photograph their reception party in Portland in the summer. For your wedding day, YOU DO YOU! There is no right or wrong way to have your wedding. As long as you are happy and at peace and know the day is about you and your lover, then nothing else matters. And I want to be that photographer that embraces every choice you make and documents every single moment of your wedding, reception, elopement... however you envision it!
